The privacy of our visitors is of extreme importance to us. This privacy policy outlines the type of personal information that is received and collected by Clay and Me and how it is used and shared.

What Information Do We Collect and How Is It Used?

Clay and Me collects as little information as possible from users looking to post comments and messages in the forum.  We will collect a name (either real or alias), personal website, and e-mail address. This information is used solely for the purposes of updating users on approval and responses to the comments they leave.

Types of Cookies Used

Google Analytics – We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is being used in order to improve the user experience. User data is anonymous and IP addresses are automatically made anonymous by google analytics as it is implemented on Clay and Me.

Facebook – Cookies and pixels are used to understand and deliver ads and make them more relevant to you. We may also use a cookie to learn whether someone who saw an ad on Facebook later visited our website.

Affiliate Marketing – Clay and Me may engage in affiliate marketing, which is done by embedding tracking links into the Website. If you click on a link for an affiliate partnership, a cookie will be placed on your browser to track any sales for purposes of commissions.

Clay and Me is a participant of Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and links to Amazon.com affiliate partners.  As part of these programs, Clay and Me will post customized links, provided by Amazon, to track the referrals to their website. This program utilizes cookies to track visits for the purposes of assigning commission on these sales.

Newsletters – On the Website, you may subscribe to our newsletter, which may be used for advertising purposes. All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click. Also, this allows the Website to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user. This behavior will not be passed on to third parties.

At the bottom of every newsletter will be an easy way to opt-out. I hate SPAM as much as you and have no intention of filling up e-mail boxes with unwanted messages.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

With Whom Information is Contact Information Shared

None of your contact information (Name, email address, website) will be shared with third parties. Clay and Me may use your e-mail address in the future to contact you regarding the site if you have opted in to received communication however, an opt-out will always be provided.  Your name and website may be displayed on the site if you post a comment on a blog post.

Rights related to your personal information

Opt-out – You may opt-out of future email communications by following the unsubscribe links in our emails. You may also notify us at contact@clayandme.com to be removed from our mailing list.

Access – You may access the personal information we have about you by submitting a request to contact@clayandme.com.

Amend – You may contact us at contact@clayandme.com to amend or update your personal information.

Forget – In certain situations, you may request that we erase or forget your personal data. To do so, please submit a request to contact@clayandme.com

Sensitive personal information

At no time should you submit sensitive personal information to the Website.
